BRNO – COMPOSING SPACE

A creative workshop for families with children inspired by the architectural thinking of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe with Veronika Svobodová.
The creative workshop accompanies the exhibition Mies in the Picture, created to mark the 140th anniversary of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s birth. Through collage and photomontage, participants will discover the basic principles of Mies’s architectural thinking and the relationship between Villa Tugendhat and the surrounding landscape. Together, we will explore the basic principles of perspective and spatial perception and put them into practice using a light table. This will make it possible to layer, combine, and reinterpret architectural elements used by Mies.
The result will be original compositions inspired by the work of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, with a particular focus on Villa Tugendhat, while also reflecting each participant’s individual perspective on space, light, and the relationship between people and their surroundings.
The workshop will take place on the technical floor of the villa and in its main living space.
