Through the urban landscape as if it were a living room – exploring plots and streets as well as the value of urban life with architect Markéta Krejčí.
We often think of housing as a private matter. My apartment, my house, my lease, my mortgage. In reality, however, the way we live shapes the entire city – its streets, blocks, courtyards, parks, transport, prices, neighbourhoods, and everyday life.
Housing will therefore be presented not simply as a matter of houses and apartments, but as a force shaping both the appearance and quality of the city. We will look at historic plots, building density, public space, and the ways in which economic and social changes are reflected in the city’s appearance. We will also ask where our home actually ends: at the apartment door, in front of the building, in the street, or perhaps only in the park we share with others.
